Beverly Pugh

Beverly Pugh, 87, of Alden, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, surrounded by her family. Private family funeral services will be held. Public visitation will be from 3-5 PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. She will be laid to rest at the Alden Cemetery at a later date. Counsell Woodley Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is caring for Bev and her family. Beverly Jean (Huisman) Pugh was born on July 14, 1934 to Bryan and Anna (Kadous) Huisman in Wellsburg, Iowa. On June 18, 1954 Bev was united in marriage to Floyd “Dick” Richard Pugh. Bev and Dick raised their four children in Alden, Iowa. She was an active member of the Alden United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served on several boards. Bev held many positions throughout the years but being an in-home caregiver to the elderly was the dearest to her heart. Bev was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She and Dick loved spending time with family and friends. They made sure to take special trips with their daughters and grandchildren throughout the years. They spent twenty-five winters in Arizona where they enjoyed the warm weather, visiting friends, indulging on an occasional date shake and playing bingo. In her spare time, Bev enjoyed reading a good book, sewing, embroidering, baking, canning and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She always looked forward to spending time with her Monday morning coffee group. But more than anything, Bev was well-loved by her family and friends. Bev Pugh is survived by her husband, Floyd “Dick” Pugh of Alden, Iowa; children, Jodi (Darwin) Kuhlers of Fairmont, Minnesota, Shelley (Mark) Moreland of Kiron, Iowa, Traci (Dan) Zoske of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Dori (Keith) Williamson of Maxwell, Iowa; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Bonnie Christians of Wellsburg, Iowa and Thelma Willems of Ackley, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two sisters.
