Marilyn Kinney

Marilyn Kinney, 80, of Iowa Falls, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at Scenic Manor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Marilyn will be laid to rest next to her husband, Larry, at the Northlawn Memory Gardens. Friends may call for visitation one hour prior. Woodley Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is caring for Marilyn and her family. Marilyn Jean Kinney was born on August 24, 1945 to Wayne and Gladys (Sandberg) Lamasters in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1963. On February 16, 1964 Marilyn was united in marriage to Larry James Kinney at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Tracie and Tammy. Marilyn devoted more than 20 years of her life to working as a preschool teacher, where her deep love for children was evident to all who knew her. She was a natural conversationalist, known for her gift of connecting with others and her enjoyment of time spent with family and friends. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life; especially camping trips shared with loved ones over the years. Marilyn also loved playing card games and staying active in a variety of groups and social circles. Her faith was important to her, and she regularly attended Bible studies through her church community, where she also served as organist for many years. Marilyn especially looked forward to her annual trips with her three cousins, Janice, Elaine, and Karen, as well as her sister, Colleen. These cherished adventures created lasting memories and were a highlight of her year. She and Colleen also shared a special accomplishment—together, they visited every Freedom Rock in Iowa, a testament to their sense of adventure and close bond. Above all, Marilyn cherished her family. She took special pride in and found immense happiness spending time with her four grandchildren, and in recent years, her five great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Marilyn Kinney is survived by her daughters, Tracie (Larry) Krapfl of Anthon, Iowa and Tammy (Steve) Erickson of Robins, Iowa; grandchildren: Brandon (Kendra) Krapfl, Kayl (Amy) Krapfl, Kylee Erickson (Adam Houk), Sam Erickson; 5 great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Lillian, Parker, Brinley, and Hadley and her sister, Colleen (Marc) Lamoreux. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kinney and parents, Wayne and Gladys Lamasters.
