Mark T. Mulford

Mark Mulford, 63, of Iowa Falls, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Woodley Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Mark and his family. Mark Thomas Mulford was born on January 30, 1960. His parents were Walter Ray and Mary Jane (Smith) Mulford. Mark graduated from Iowa Falls High School class of 1978. Mark was a loving son. He was an only child and truly a blessing to his parents. They were devoted to one-another. Mark was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish. There were lots of trips to Canada and hunting expeditions with cousins Jonas and Dick. He did some golfing too and earned a reputation for having “low ankles”. Ask if you want the story! Mark was also a die-hard NASCAR Kevin Harvick fan to the end. He also loved Chevy Cameros. Some of you might remember he bought a Camero from his uncle Bob, and he would hot rod around town in his younger days. Mark started Cargill on Sept. 9, 1981 and finally decided to enjoy the retired life in March of 2020. For nearly 39 years he was a fixture at Cargill and still could not manage to change his schedule from night-shift mode! We all remember Mark as a kind hearted person who was good to family and friends. St. Jude’s was a charity near and dear to his heart and he made sure to generously provide for the sick children. Mark would have loved to be a dad himself. We will all remember Mark as a good-natured, funny guy. His laugh was one in a million. He will be missed by family and friends alike. Mark Mulford is survived by: Sharon Mulford Henson and family, Jonas Mulford, Bob Mulford and family, Mary Ann Mulford and family, John Johnson and family, Patty Smith and family, Larry Smith and family; aunt, Louella Smith and special loved ones, Kenneth and Mary Smith and family, Mike and Wendy Cooper. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Walter and Mary Jane Mulford; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Esther Mulford; maternal grandparents, Hershel and Dorothy Smith and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
