Ruby Marian Danielson

Ruby Marian Danielson, 86, of Hampton, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. She was born on October 3, 1933, to Luke and Henrietta (Bulthis) Marks, at their home in Dike. Ruby graduated from Dike High School, class of 1952. She was united in marriage to her junior high school sweetheart, Donald Dean Danielson on May 24, 1952, at their pastors' home in Dike. To this union four children were born. Ruby was a bookkeeper for several businesses throughout her life including, a nursing home, a bank in Cedar Falls, the Mahaska County Home Healthcare, as well as for Danielson Construction Company, which she and Donald owned. Ruby was a former member of Faith Wesleyan Church and a current member of Faith Baptist Church in Hampton. Her love for our Lord was witnessed by many and shared with everyone, especially by being a prayer warrior. Ruby and Donald had a life changing experience spending three months in Kenya, Africa, on a mission trip through World Gospel Mission in 1981. Ruby was also a former member of the Dike American Legion Auxiliary, the Ostfriesen Heritage Society, and the Iowa Deaf Association. At the age of 68, Ruby learned sign language and would use her skills to help others. She volunteered for the Hawkeye College Senior Companion Program in Cedar Falls. Ruby had a warm heart and a helping hand for anyone she met and will be missed by many. Ruby is survived by her daughter Glenda (Rodney) Schwab of Hampton, son Brent (Trish) Danielson of Sturgis, Michigan, son Bruce (Susan) Danielson of Grinnell, son Burt (Leeann) Danielson of Oskaloosa, grandchildren Taylor (Sara Syverhus) Schwab, Jenalee (Royce) Dreibelbis, Jennifer Pucel, Rebekah Danielson, Sara (Tim) Brummel, Greg (Katie) Danielson, Josh Wade, Amanda Johnson, Brandon Danielson and Devin Danielson, twelve great-grandchildren, sister Lorraine (Marion) Nelson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Luke and Henrietta, husband Donald, infant daughter Brenda Joyce, sister Lillian Gast and brother Edward Marks. Memorial contributions may be given in Ruby's memory to Iowa School for the Deaf, 3501 Harry Langdon Blvd., Council Bluffs, IA 51503 Private family services will be held. Burial will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike, Iowa. The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton is assisting Ruby's family.
