Shawn Seifert

Shawn Seifert, 67, of Jewell, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Story City. She will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, November 29 at the Woodley Funeral Home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family. Woodley Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is caring for Shawn and her family. Shawn was born on May 28th, 1956, to Orlyn and Myra Steffen. Shawn was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Her kindness, generosity and warmth touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shawn found joy in playing with and teaching her grandchildren, attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and indulging in her love for book shopping and reading. She will be fondly remembered for her generosity, passion for Duck Dynasty, infectious laughter, and Chuck Norris jokes. She is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Seifert, and her loving children: Shannon Steffen (Jonathan Bitz), Jacob (Sara) Seifert, Mark (Kelly) Seifert, Sam (Bethanni) Seifert, Peter (Jessica) Seifert, Ben Seifert, Katherine Seifert (Adam Smuck), and Sarah Seifert (Dex Popillion). Shawn's legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren: Kaleb Karnath (Meghan Roy), Esther Kaario, Jacie Pitcock, Adilynn Seifert, Zayden Seifert, Anderson Seifert, Nevaeh Bevard, Quintin Popillion, Athena Popillion, Sullivan Seifert, with two more grandchildren on the way, as well as great-grandchildren Grace Karnath and Paisley Karnath. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and love received during this challenging time. Your thoughts and memories provide comfort and solace. A celebration of Shawn's life and legacy is scheduled for Thursday, November 30th, at 11 am at 1532 Prairie Drive, Story City, Iowa. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 29th, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Iowa Falls at Woodley Funeral Home (516 S Oak St, Iowa Falls, IA).
